Henderson Castle

Located in Kalamazoo, Michigan on top of a hill overlooking the city and across the street from the local cemetery. Built in 1895 by Frank Henderson who owned a business making uniform regalia for secret societies.

A foreboding castle situated on top of a hill, the Queen Anne style home is out of place in the midwestern town. Currently, the Castle is a bed and breakfast with the owner, guests, and staff reporting whispers, figures, and being touched by an unseen figure. Doors and cabinets open by themselves and strange markings appear along a crossbeam, reappearing even after many renovations to remove them. There are the spirits of Frank and Mary Henderson, the castle’s original owners and the most commonly reported figures seen. There’s the spirit of Clare Burleigh, a Spanish-American War veteran who served with Henderson's son. There’s the spirit of at least one unidentified child, a little girl who is said to be the one who wrote the markings.

Even with the number of sightings, owners and staff have all reported the ghosts as being warm and friendly.
